RIP HELEN

Sadly, last night, Helen (on the left) passed away. She had always been the quieter, and one of the weaker hen of the bunch. A few weeks ago, we thought she wasn't looking very well - similar to Baldrick. I gave her epsom salts which she spat back at me and also wormed her. She was looking better until the other day.

If anyone can give any advice about yellow poo, please contact me as Baldrick had yellow runny poo and Helen and Clucky have had yellow, firm poo. Hetty also had the same symptoms a few weeks ago, but we wormed her and gave her epsom salts and she has recovered. We would like to know what to do to save Clucky from the same fate.

Also, all the hens used to fly over the fence and go off for walks, which was great (they are meant to be free range after all). Suddenly, since Baldrick died, they hardly ever go off - any ideas why?

We take some comfort in the fact that Helen's humble beginnings were as a recycled battery hen. She was adopted by us over a year ago and has lived a life of luxury ever since. She will be sadly missed by us and her friends Hetty, Henrietta, Clucky and her best mate Hillary.
